Summer 5k Series - Time Trial 2
The Staplehurst Summer 5k Series will now be a series of virtual races where it's just you against the clock! Once you have entered you will be added to the start list, then all you need to do is go out and run your 5k. You can run it wherever you want and whenever you want, as long as it's within the race dates. In order to make it a level playing field, all we ask is that the 5k is a continuous time, so no pausing those Garmins mid-race! Once complete, return to the start list on our results page, click the link next to your name that says 'enter time', then submit your time and map link from your favourite running app. More information on how to submit your time is available here. When you submit your time you will also be asked your age, this is to validate your entry.
Please note that the results will not be ordered straight away, they will be processed and ordered once a day. If you're not happy with your time then do not fear, you are free to submit as many times as you like during the month.
There are no overall prizes for the event, but we will provide an update every week on the events Facebook page. The update will contain the top 3 male and females, plus the leaders in each age category, plus notable mentions. To keep things interesting the age categories will be just 5 years (i.e. 20-24, 25-29, 30-34 etc) and the top 3 overall will be removed from age categories, so you stand a very good chance of featuring highly!
Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 outbreak the Staplehurst Summer 5k series has been cancelled, it has been replaced by the a monthly time trial, details of which are below.
*** News *** Race 2 entries are now open! We still have a limited number of medals from race 1, so if you missed that race and would like to collect the full set of medals, you can still enter race 1 here. You will still be able to enter your time, but as the results are finalised, they will no longer be sorted. Race 2 entries are available on the link below.
Entry is just £6 which includes the booking fee and also the cost of shipping a medal to you. To support the wonderful work that our National Health Service is doing at such a challenging time, £2.50 from every entry will be donated to NHS Charities Together. The total raised will be published after the final time trial. The medals (pictured above) are bespoke medals created for the Summer 5k Series.
The second race will run from the 18th of May to the 21st of June, so what are you waiting for? Enter now!
